Tombow TV Appearances & Workshops

2016-2022

  • From 2016 to 2022, I taught live and pre-recorded workshops featuring Tombow products, and also appeared on live television to promote the brand.

    Appearances included:

    • Brit + Co online classes (filmed 2 classes in Brit + Co's San Francisco studio)

    • HSN live buying events (appeared on live television 3 times to showcase Tombow products)

    • Michaels headquarters training (invited to teach corporate employees at the art and craft retailer's headquarters twice)

    • Pinners Conference workshops across the United States (2-3 in-person workshops of 150+ students per year for 3 years), along with live local news appearances to promote the conference

    • Alt Summit Conference (featured influencer/brand at Mixbook booth)

    • Snap Conference (guest speaker on social media and live lettering workshop)

    • PlannerCon & Blitsy live events for planners

    • Guest speaker for Ragan PR Daily webinar about Instagram strategy

Tombow Art Scholarship

2018-2022

  • In 2018, I developed an art scholarship program for Tombow in the United States as a way to deepen the brand's connection to the art education market.

  • I conducted extensive research into scholarships and how to implement them. Once all details of the scholarship were decided internally, I wrote all copy for the application and marketing materials to accompany the scholarship, then developed the creative brief for our in-house designer to develop the collateral.

    I used Cision to pull a targeted list of journalists to pitch to, wrote the company press release announcing the scholarship, and compiled a list of scholarship boards to submit the scholarship to for posting. After the launch, I was responsible for securing the panel of judges to determine the scholarship winners, and worked closely with them to provide all applications after the application period ended.

    Once winners were selected, I handled all communication with them, wrote a blog post and press release announcing the winners, and pitched to relevant media/journalists.

    After managing this program from start to finish for 3 years, I extensively documented all steps and trained one of my direct reports to take over management of the scholarship.

Tombow on GMA Day

2018-2022

  • In 2018, I pitched Tombow to be included on GMA Day's national TV segment, Deals & Steals.

    Our products were selected to be featured and were so popular that they have continued to be featured on multiple subsequent segments, leading to hundreds of thousands of dollars of revenue for the brand as well as national PR exposure.
